Why Gebrüder Weiss Parcel Service relies on DIVIS
Efficient parcel logistics through modern video technology
Under the DPD brand – Austria’s largest private parcel service provider – Gebrüder Weiss Paketdienst GmbH operates a total of eight depots and one city hub. At the depot in Leobendorf, a video solution was already in use, but it had become technically outdated. With the construction of the new depot in Seyring in 2025, the opportunity arose to introduce a modern, standardised video management system at both locations and thereby address key challenges in day‑to‑day logistics.
The challenge: Blurry camera footage
The parcel business is fast‑paced, and time is a critical success factor. Unresolved parcels must be traced quickly and cases clearly analysed. At the Leobendorf site, however, it became apparent that the existing video technology no longer met the demands of day‑to‑day operations. Blurry camera footage made parcel tracking difficult and the resolution of damage cases increasingly time‑consuming.
In addition to improving the handling of damage claims, Gebrüder Weiss Paketdienst GmbH pursued another goal: to noticeably improve employees’ day‑to‑day work through modern technology and faster processes. This required a video solution that would operate reliably during ongoing operations and meet today’s requirements for parcel handling. It was therefore clear that a modern video solution had to be used at the Leobendorf site as well as for the new depot in Seyring.
Choosing DIVIS: Proven partnership and a compelling overall package
In addition to the experience of the parent company, the balanced package of functionality and value for money from DIVIS was also convincing. The ParcelVIS video management system was first introduced at the depot in Leobendorf. The solution proved its worth there in day‑to‑day operations. Subsequently, ParcelVIS was also implemented at the depot in Seyring.
With the introduction of the new solution, Gebrüder Weiss Paketdienst pursued clear objectives:
- Significantly improved image quality for seamless parcel tracking
- Reliable support in clarifying damage cases
- A system that enables employees to work quickly and efficiently in their daily routines
These goals were reliably achieved with ParcelVIS at the Leobendorf and Seyring sites.
Implementation and project collaboration
During system installation, a total of 145 cameras were installed in the indoor and outdoor areas of the depot in Leobendorf. Slightly more than 100 cameras were installed at the Seyring site.
The installation and commissioning of the video system in both depots took place in close coordination between the project management teams at Gebrüder Weiss Paketdienst and DIVIS.
Stefan Maurer, Project Manager at the DPD Depot Seyring, describes the collaboration as constructive and pleasant: “During the project, details such as camera settings were agreed and fine‑tuned together. Communication with the DIVIS team was smooth, and our queries were always answered promptly.”

Quick integration into daily operations
After system commissioning was completed, employees were introduced to the new solution in targeted system training sessions provided by DIVIS. Thanks to the intuitive interface of the software, they were able to work confidently and independently with the system after a short time. In addition, several colleagues from the depot in Leobendorf, who had already gained experience with ParcelVIS, were able to share their knowledge to the team in Seyring.
At the same time, DIVIS remained in close contact with the depots to implement any necessary adjustments immediately. In this way, the video solution quickly became a reliable part of day‑to‑day operations.
A change that delivers: Clearer tracking, less effort
Switching to the new video solution from DIVIS provides Gebrüder Weiss Paketdienst GmbH with the following benefits today:
- Seamless transparency for reliable parcel tracking within the depot
- Faster clarification of damage claims
- Increased efficiency thanks to accelerated workflows and optimised processes
- Reliable support from DIVIS, both during implementation and in ongoing operations
Conclusion: The switch to the new system unlocked new opportunities
The conclusion of those responsible on site is positive. “The switch to ParcelVIS from DIVIS has paid off for us,” summarises Stefan Maurer. “The solution fits perfectly with the needs of our depots. The changeover was straightforward and smooth. We are very satisfied with the partnership with DIVIS and glad that we chose ParcelVIS.”
The switch from the previous solution to DIVIS at Gebrüder Weiss Paketdienst shows how changing systems can deliver clear, tangible benefits: existing technology was replaced by a modern, high‑performance solution that ensures a high level of transparency, optimises processes and thereby supports a reliable parcel flow in the depot.
