SUCCESSFUL PREMIERE

Customer event with workshop on the high seas

DIVIS customer event and innovation workshop

Bordesholm, June 27, 2018

A total of 20 customers came to attend the first "Kieler Daag”, an event organized by DIVIS, and developed ideas and first concrete approaches to optimize video surveillance in logistics in an innovation workshop. As part of the Kieler Woche, the event program also offered a lot of fun and entertainment.

This was a first for DIVIS: For the first time, the video surveillance experts had invited to Bordesholm for an innovation workshop. On June 20 and 21, twenty customers came to the far north to work on new solutions, get to know each other and have fun together. "We meet here with colleagues who have similar topics and challenges as we do," says Hans Ach, Managing Partner of Niedermaier forwarding from Landau at the Isar. Together with his wife, he had traveled the 860-kilometer journey by car.

After a get-together, the event started with a tour around the company, where many of the voices, previously only known by the phone, could now be connected to a face. In addition to the administrative areas, the technical areas in particular attracted great interest.

Here, for example, the participants got a sense of the high demands that DIVIS places on their camera suppliers and the effort with which the hard disks are tested before they are put to use by customers. Initial discussions developed during the subsequent presentation of current innovations such as the integration of thermal imaging cameras for outdoor surveillance.

In the evening things became really comfortable with the joint barbecue in the beer garden of the hotel Bärenkrug, in which all visitors had checked in before. The day was finished with a rum tasting along with expert advice.

Cast off!

On the next morning on the Sartorikai in the Kiel Innerförde the crowd cast off for a regatta escort tour. With a length of 47 meters, the Swaensborgh's 3-mast topsail schooner offered comfortable seating, a saloon with bar, a mobile grill station and a lounge on deck. When hoisting the 12 sails of the 111-year-old ship, the customers were invited to lend a hand. Afterwards, the location, which was sailing hard against the wind and overlooking the Baltic Sea, provided the ideal setting for the innovation workshop. "Through the workshops, the event opens one's eyes regarding possibilities to use the system in the future,” explains Heinz Wolf from Wolf forwarding in Straubing.

Active exchange during the workshop on topics such as automatic license plate recognition, barcode reading with cameras as a scan replacement and yard management

In preparation for the event, the participants had decided by poll on the following five topics: Automatic license plate recognition, barcode reading with cameras as a scan replacement, yard management - including the camera-based detection of swap trailer numbers, a possible DIVIS app for CargoVIS and ParcelVIS as well as the topic process optimization of logistic processes through analysis with ProfileVIS. Andreas Schmischer from Gebrüder Weiss in Lauterach states: "I think it's great that the event is being held, and the connection between the innovation workshop with interesting topics and good conversation is very well received."

The working groups elaborated thoughts and ideas gathered around five bistro tables on deck, results were noted down by the participants and subsequently presented by the competent moderators of DIVIS. "We were able to discuss many innovative topics here today and worked on good things," says Jens Becker from Schmalz + Schön Logistics in Fellbach.

Although participants were expected to become dripping wet, hardly anyone wanted to miss the ride in a 300 hp speedboat

After the work was done, the participants were already expected by the next highlight: a ride on a 300-hp speedboat, which had meanwhile been moored on the Swaensborgh in a starboard position. The over 100 km/h fast racing device offered nine seats, all of which were in great demand this afternoon despite the rain. While the skipper let his guests fly over the waves in several tours, the other passengers aboard the Swaensborgh were provided with grilled food and drinks.

Back in the port of Kiel, the last program point of the "Kieler Daag" started on early Thursday evening: a visit to the Kieler Woche and the famous "Bayern Tent" with reserved seats on the gallery. The Bavarian band Blechblos'n and the good Erdinger beer guaranteed for an exuberant mood.

"For me as a fan of sailing this was a great event - and then also connected with the Kieler Woche - it was great fun," summarizes Arno Brucker from the Brucker shipping company in Aalen.
