DIVIS review of 2020 and our tip of the month

The year 2020 was undoubtedly exceptional in many ways. Much had to be changed and completely rethought. Home office regulations, short-time work, hygiene regulations, contact and entry restrictions in several European countries, all of this became our new everyday life. But as challenging as the uncertainties and the known facts may be for us, this year also showed good sides.

Before we dedicate ourselves fully to the developments that lie ahead of us and say goodbye to the old year, we would like to take a look back with you today at the developments at DIVIS in 2020.

 

New customers and projects during the corona pandemic

We all faced challenges this year, the scope of which we could hardly grasp at the beginning of the pandemic. DIVIS continues to stand at the side of our customers, especially during such challenging times. Together with you, we break new ground, adapt to new tasks and develop new strategies to keep moving forward even in the crisis.

Thanks to the excellent cooperation with our customers this year, including the quick adaptation of hygiene concepts and other solutions that we have implemented to protect the employees involved on both sides, we were able to realise over 120 new projects on site this year.
We now look proudly at our customers in 21 countries. Finland was added in 2020. In an extensive project, the location of a major customer there was equipped with the CargoVIS system solution.

But there has also been a lot activity on the German market. For example, the location of our major customer Emons in Cologne has been re-equipped with CargoVIS. New customer Imperial Logistics, an internationally oriented company with a focus on Africa and Europe, opted for CargoVIS this year at its location in Wilhelmshaven. Logwin, also an international logistics company that is already using video management from DIVIS at various German locations, expanded this year as well.

Just like CargoVIS, our solution for parcel service providers, ParcelVIS, was again very popular in the 2020 financial year. With trans-o-flex we were able to win a strategically important partner. Their location in Hamm has been equipped, and further locations are to follow.

Online trading has received an unprecedented boost due to the corona pandemic. Because of the rapidly growing shipment volumes, solutions for seamless shipment tracking and for fast shipment research are becoming increasingly important.

One example already today is DPD, one of our key accounts. Germany's second largest parcel delivery company extended the use of ParcelVIS to other depots, for example including the sites in Mannheim and Altentreptow near Neubrandenburg. DPD is the market leader in the UK. The site in Dudley Port has started using ParcelVIS this year. A total of 108 DPD depots across Europe are currently working with a video solution from DIVIS.

 

Growth in the team and promotion of young talent

Once again, the constant growth at DIVIS has also created space for several new jobs in various areas. Even though project implementation was not possible without hurdles due to the Corona crisis, the best possible service for our customers always remains our top priority. The areas of software development, project coordination Europe and our service team have been reinforced with additional staff in the last few months. Today at DIVIS a team of almost 80 employees ensures that our solutions master every requirement and that users of DIVIS solutions feel in good hands with us thanks to reliable support and competent advice.

Promoting young talent also remains a major topic at DIVIS. A new colleague recently started his dual degree in International Business with us.

One of the highlights this year definitely was the appointment of our colleague Hendrik Reger as additional managing director (since June 1st, 2020) of Deutsche Industrie Video System GmbH.

 

Outlook: what will the new year bring?

Together with you, we look forward to a promising new year optimistically.

Even though a definite end to the extraordinary circumstances is currently not in sight, we are confident that together we will master the new year in the best possible way. We are confident that the general situation will defuse in 2021 – both with regard to the Europe-wide project implementation and our live performances and events.
